Gemma Arterton

The Rock HotelGemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton is an English actress, known for her diverse range of roles in film, television, and theatre. She gained widespread recognition for her breakout role as Bond girl Agent Fields in the James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" (2008).

Arterton visits Gibraltar for a few days between 19th February and 30th Match 2007 for the filming of "3 and Out”.

3 and Out” is a black comedy about a London tube driver who tries to find someone willing to die under his train. She played the role of Frankie Cassidy, the daughter of a suicidal Irishman named Tommy Cassidy, who agrees to the tube driver’s offer. One of the scenes in the film was set in South Africa, but it was filmed in here in Gibraltar. As an actress committed to her craft, Arterton appreciated the opportunity to immerse herself in the setting of a film that challenged conventional narratives and explored complex themes. She explored the bustling streets of Gibraltar's old town, soaking in the blend of British and Mediterranean influences that define the territory's identity. She enjoyed her stay at the rock hotel and she was so grateful for the good service we held her. In our signature book, she signed with a “kiss” quoting “here is a kiss from strawberry fields”.

Back to the film, it received mixed reviews from critics and audiences and was controversial for its depiction of suicide and the London Underground. Even so, Gemma enjoyed her stay in Gibraltar.
