Christopher Nicholas Parsons was an English actor, broadcaster, and radio and television show host. Parsons became an iconic figure in the UK through his role as the host of "Just a Minute," where he showcased his wit, eloquence, alongside the ability to keep the show entertaining with humour and grace.

Nicholas Parsons visited Gibraltar on 14th to 16th November 2014, as part of his involvement in the Gibraltar Literary Festival.

During his visit, he spoke about his new book, "Welcome to Just a Minute," which compiled six decades of anecdotes and highlights from the famous radio show. The British enclave offered a unique setting and an enthusiastic audience for literature and the history of British entertainment. While in Gibraltar, Parsons shared stories and experiences from his career, offering attendees a unique insight into the evolution of entertainment and broadcasting in the UK. His storytelling ability and wit, characteristic of his personality on "Just a Minute," captivated the audience. Although no specific quotes from his visit are recorded, it is plausible Parsons emphasized the importance of adaptability and creativity in his field, values he exemplified throughout his career. Parson's death left a deep sorrow in the citizens of Gibraltar.

His affection for Gibraltar, his appreciation of its history and his love for its geography were clear in his every mention of the rock. It is without hesitation, repetition, or deviation that we say his presence will be sorely missed.
