Sir Sean Connery was a Scottish actor renowned for his portrayal of James Bond, the fictional British spy created by Ian Fleming. Connery's embodiment of the suave and sophisticated Bond made him a cinematic icon, celebrated for bringing depth and charisma to the character.

Connery’s connection to Gibraltar is immortalized in the opening sequence of The Living Daylights (1987), a James Bond film. He also holds a unique connection to Gibraltar beyond the fictional world of espionage in 6th December 1962.

Connery held his wedding ceremony in Gibraltar. In this event, after the ceremony, the couple stayed here at The Rock Hotel. The couple remark the fantastic view they had to the Botanical Gardens. With the beautiful reception and the scenic views in Gibraltar, the couple publicly mentioned they did enjoy their best moments in life whilst in Gibraltar. Sean Connery last visit to Gibraltar was in 14th May 1989. Due to bad weather, his flight took more than 4 hours of delay. He stayed in the hotel to enjoy “a la carte” French menu. He enjoyed flambeed peppered steak. A queue of more than 20 children formed at the hotel to get Connery’s autograph.
