Gemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton

Gemma Arterton is an English actress known for her work across film, television and theatre. She gained wider recognition for her role as Agent Fields in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace (2008).

She visited Gibraltar between 19th February and 30th March 2007 during the filming of 3 and Out.

3 and Out is a black comedy centred on a London Underground driver, with Arterton playing Frankie Cassidy, the daughter of a key character in the story. Although parts of the film were set elsewhere, scenes were filmed in Gibraltar, using the Rock as a stand-in location. During her stay, Arterton spent time exploring the old town and experiencing the mix of British and Mediterranean influences that characterise Gibraltar.

She stayed at The Rock Hotel, where she later left a message in the visitor’s book, signing off with “here is a kiss from Strawberry Fields” as a gesture of appreciation for the hospitality she received.

While the film itself received mixed responses, her time in Gibraltar remains a positive part of the production, linking the project to the Rock’s role as a filming location.
