Steve Hogarth

Steve Hogarth is a British musician and singer-songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the band Marillion. His distinctive voice and lyrical style have played a defining role in the band’s sound, earning him recognition as a key figure in progressive rock.

Steve Hogarth has visited Gibraltar on several occasions, both for performances and cultural events.

He performed a solo concert at St Michael’s Cave on 9th September 2006 and returned on 30th May 2015 for another performance with his son Nial and Dave Gregory. He also took part in the Gibraltar Literary Festival in 2014 and 2015, where he shared readings from his diaries and memoir. Over time, he has spoken openly about his connection to Gibraltar, describing it as a place where he feels at home and has built lasting friendships.

His appreciation for the Rock is also reflected in his music, including his song Gibraltar, inspired by his experiences there. Through his performances and continued visits, Hogarth has developed a strong link with the local community, making Gibraltar a recurring part of his artistic journey.
